Disney’s 2016 hit film, Moana, is soon coming to stage right here in Kankakee County. Paula Sutter and The Kankakee Valley Theatre Association will soon be presenting its musical version of the film, Moana Jr, in mid-March, featuring songs written by the critically acclaimed Lin-Manuel Miranda. The story follows Moana (Abby Purcell, Manteno) and Maui (Andrew Bush, Bourbonnais) in the Pacific Islands as they set sail with the goal of saving her village by returning the heart of Te Fiti back to its rightful owner. However, not all is straightforward as it seemed, as they encounter many perilous situations along the way from beings that wish to take the heart for themselves.
