Auditions For KVTA’s Moana Jr. This Weekend

It’s (Almost) Show Time!

Our local spot for all things kids’ theater, KVTA’s Young People’s Theater, is holding auditions this weekend for their upcoming show, Disney’s Moana Jr. Children, tweens, and teens between the ages of 6 and 17 are invited to audition to be a part of the on-stage production. Auditions will be held on Friday, January 6th and Saturday, January 7th at the KVTA studios, located at 1 Stuart Drive in Kankakee.

Disney’s Moana JR is based on the 2016 hit Disney movie of the same name. The stage production, which will be 60-minutes in length, will feature the movie’s entire music catalog, including the hit songs “You’re Welcome”, “How Far I’ll Go”, and “Shiny.” KVTA director Paula Sutter, assistant director Beth Sutter, vocal director Amy Shinabarger, and choreographer Victoria Wisniewski will be leading the production.

KVTA also asks that participants under the age of 16 be accompanied by a parent; proof of age may also be requested as well. Auditions will consist of singing, dancing, and character reading, and participants must sign up for an audition slot on KVTA’s website, kvta.org.
